FIELD TRIPS FOR GROUPS

Ed enjoys working with teachers, professors, corporations conducting retreats, clubs, and those organizing family reunions and weddings to create outings that will cover appropriate bases and provide plenty of fun and opportunities for comaraderie. Group expeditions led by Ed include:

  • A Vassar College class that explored the bog-like peatland at the Paul Smith's Visitor Interpretive Center

  • Field workshops in Adirondack natural history, alpine ecology, and nature writing for SUNY Cortland’s summer Adirondack program based on Raquette Lake

  • A Hamilton College group that pondered history and natural history along Old Mountain Road between Lake Placid and Keene

  • Training sessions on birds and environmental interpretation for Adirondack Mountain Club and Paul Smith's College Visitor Interpretive Center summer naturalist staff

  • Family reunion outings, one a gentle climb of Baxter Mountain, another a strenuous march up Whiteface Mountain

  • Exxon-Mobil top brass and high officials of the Persian Gulf nation of Qatar, who joined Ed for two exciting cross-cultural hikes in the woods

  • The groom and all the menfolk attending a gala Lake Placid wedding, who enjoyed an adventure on the trail while the rest of the party enjoyed facials, manicures, and hair-dos.
